Three days down a long road
during winter twighlight, the release of shadows untold
while my mind strays my eyes stay fixed ahead
for looking back leads to wondering
that i'm somewhere that footprints disappear when tread
and the wind with a voice of a child tells me there is no reason for leaving

birds begin to chirp a song for me
to forget time if time is free
might as well dream of my house
or stare into the woods and watch my fears cascading
anything to ignore the wind at my blouse

the comfort of sleeping caught me that december morning
trailing after was the thought of caffeine
a sudden out burst of laughter
disarms the wind of its treason
relieving my fear of its stature

i rest for a moment as my feet feal embraced
selfishly frost shows its distate
